Preparations

So we are back in the cold and very wet UK a nasty shock from the lovey NZ summer we have just enjoyed. Its a busy time getting the last few jobs done on the landrover, sorting out paper work and stocking up on supplies.

One of the most expensive items the roof tent has been fitted and looks really good up, we cant wait to try it out! Hopefully it will prove worth its value.

We were hoping to depart on the 28th, however whilst doing an errand and dropping of another landrover on a trailer to my dads this evening the gearbox started making some odd noises and a further 10 miles later gave up entirely. Not great, although at least its happend here and not in the middle of some dessert.

So I guess we may be a few days later gettting away now and certainly a few £££'s lighter.

  1. Sorry to read about the crash, having just spnet 15 days and 2500 kms on rough gravel in Namibia, you have chosen the right vehicle. My question is What make of roof tent have you bought? Angus

  2. Hi thanks, hopefully we will make it to Namibia as well. Its from a local company down in Penzance http://www.rooftentslimited.com its not as pricey as the well known makes but seems good. Its survived a roll over with out to much damage and is still serviceable with a few patches and a bit of straightening.
Hopefully it will last as well for the rest of our trip when we finally get away.
