Tragically as we were recovering the landrover back to the farm here to replace the failed gearbox I lost control of the whole combination rolling the borrowed towing vehicle and ours which was sitting on a trailer behind it.
Thankfully there were no serious injuries other than a knock to my head which will have caused little damage im sure!
Sadly though the financial cost has been huge with some £1000 excess lost on the hire 4x4 and £600 for recovery fees (robbing gits, they only moved it 2 miles!) and unfortunately our landrover wasnt covered by either of the insurance policies. It is to badly damged for me to be able to repair in a reasonable time frame i think.
So this leaves us desperately hunting for a cheap solid replacement if we can load/credit card the money for it. We are so close now with all the other stuff arranged and time off work it feels we really should try and get going again by any means possible.
Well ill finish for now with the hope I can return with better news.

Preparations
So we are back in the cold and very wet UK a nasty shock from the lovey NZ summer we have just enjoyed. Its a busy time getting the last few jobs done on the landrover, sorting out paper work and stocking up on supplies.
One of the most expensive items the roof tent has been fitted and looks really good up, we cant wait to try it out! Hopefully it will prove worth its value.
We were hoping to depart on the 28th, however whilst doing an errand and dropping of another landrover on a trailer to my dads this evening the gearbox started making some odd noises and a further 10 miles later gave up entirely. Not great, although at least its happend here and not in the middle of some dessert.
So I guess we may be a few days later gettting away now and certainly a few £££'s lighter.
